Decorative Elements
Grillwork
Celtic Knot Grillwork
These were made for a client who desired to have a Celtic theme in the decor of their
residence. and so these Celtic Knot inspired grilles were provided.
- Corner Bracket A set of 4 brackets
provide just a touch o' decoration.
- Fireplace Alcove Cover A set of 2
covers open on hinges so that various decorative items can be placed within the alcoves above the
fireplace mantle.
- A Light Grille A set of 2 grilles cover
recessed lighting at the entranceway.
- Door Grille If one looks closely it can be
seen that the vertical elements actually pierce the horizontal elements. The verticals are also upset
(swelled) on the ends and are arranged 'on the diamond' rather than square with the horizontals.
This sort of detail adds greatly to the interest of a piece when viewed closely.
Flowers
There's just something really cool about forging flowers out of a bar of steel...
This is a production
piece I make for Cloudbird of Dancing Light Lamps. She has a lovely design here; I especially like
the way it transforms the hard steel into the soft, organic form of a Birch Basket.
Door Hardware
- Door Knocker
- Latch, Keys and Hinge Plates The latch is a
reproduction of an old Norwegian style. One of the cool things about it is that the workings of it
are exposed on the inside of the door so that one can see the mechanics as they work.
- Locks These are installed in the gates of a fence
around a pool.
